Madrid Pride – Europe’s No 1 Pride Parade and Party!
Madrid Gay Pride, takes place from the 28th of June to the 8th of July 2018, The events success is in that it appeals to the whole city, and across the LGBTQ spectrum.
The parade takes place on Saturday the 7th of July.The event attracts more than 1 million visitors to the city and is the last major pride parade in Spain coming after Barcelona and Sitges.There are more than 7 day of cultural events and parties in the lead up to the parade.
The Pride is known locally as Orgullo or Mado (Madrid Orgullo).Chueca, Madrid’s popular gay barrio is the epicentre of all things gay during the Pride week. After the great success of 2017 World Pride, the bar will be set even higher. Madrid will do its utmost with this event, with an extensive cultural program that will flood the city’s main streets and squares with music, dance, performing arts, visual arts,literature, sporting competitions, talks,children’s activities and more.
The week leading up to the main parade sees international circuit parties take place right across the city including Circuit BCN Pre parties, the We Pride week and more.The WE Pride Festival takes place alongside the main pride activities.
The main celebrations, the Madrid Gay Pride Festival, take place in the Chueca district, Madrid’s gay barrio.Visitors are advised to plan and book their hotel or apartment early. This is one of the busiest weeks in the city.
The main parade route is on the city’s leafy Plaza de Espana, from 6 pm into the evening.
